Partnerships

Codman Academy has many partnerships in Boston. Our Upper School is co-located with our founding partner – the Codman Square Health Center. Other partnerships include The Huntington Theatre Company, the Dorchester YMCA, and the American Youth Foundation. Learn more below!

Codman Academy is the only high school in the U.S. located within a community health center. Our partnership with the Codman Square Health Center, which dates from the school's establishment, allows both organizations to work together to improve the health and well-being of the community.
Finding your voice is an important part of a Codman education. Every student graduates from Codman with extensive training in performance due to our long standing partnership with The Huntington Theatre Company. Our partnership has been nationally recognized as an innovator in arts education.
Dorchester YMCA serves as Codman Academy's main athletic and fitness center, and all Codman Upper School students receive a free membership. Only a few blocks down the street from Codman’s campus, the YMCA’s state-of-the-art facilities include a swimming pool, gymnasium, exercise studio, weight and machine room, and spaces for youth leadership development.
Since 2002, Codman Academy has partnered with the American Youth Foundation to offer a leadership program in which the entire Upper School travels to New Hampshire for a three-day trip at Camp Merrowvista. The program seeks to promote self-confidence, build character, and strengthen students' interpersonal skills.
Codman's EL Education curriculum emphasizes project-based learning, expeditions, and investigations that link course work to real world experiences. Each Friday students engage in on or off site field work. As part of our partnership, Codman Academy teachers receive instructional coaching and professional development sessions from EL staff.
Codman Academy has many other partnerships to support enrichment programming for our scholars, such as the Harvard Medical School, Museum of Fine Arts, Epiphany School, LEAP School, and Breakthrough Greater Boston.
