On November 12, 2009, Codman Academy hosted an Extended Learning Time (ELT) Study Tour in collaboration with the Massachusetts Center for Charter Public School Excellence (MCCPSE). The tour was sponsored by a Boston Preparatory Charter Public School ELT dissemination grant.

The tour included classroom observations, faculty panels, and an in-depth examination of Codman's daily 9th grade student support block as well as other key features of its extensive student-support system. Nearly twenty educators attended representing nine schools and organizations, including state charter schools and Boston Public Schools. Participants consistently rated the quality of tour as good or excellent on written evaluations.
