Below you will find various Rubrics and Self-Assessment tools used to teach Expository Writing in a modified Writers’ Workshop format.  The document “OR Student Rubric Development” includes a brief note on process.  All the other documents are relatively straightforward.  It is important to note that I introduced rubrics step by step in coordination with skill-based mini-lessons that were aligned with the different sections of the rubrics. The documents are available in two formats:

• Microsoft Word .doc files that can be edited and used as a starting point for your own document
• Adobe Acrobat .pdf files that can be viewed but not edited.
